Travis Easton is a partner at Easton & Easton and has played a central role in some of the firm’s most notable cases in recent years. This includes achieving a settlement for $1,250,000, which was the policy limit, shortly before the trial in 2019. Previously, another attorney from a different firm had been handling the case for several years and had only offered a settlement of $25,000. Within just six months of taking over the case, Travis successfully resolved it for the full policy limit of $1,250,000. Additionally, over the past few years, Travis has successfully resolved multiple cases with seven-figure settlements. These achievements have earned him prestigious recognition, such as a lifetime selection to the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum® and 7 Figure Litigators – America’s Premier High Stakes Trial Lawyers, honors granted to less than 1% of all attorneys in the United States. Travis has also been chosen for the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 in California and the National Trial Lawyers Motor Vehicle – Top 25 in California. In 2019, he was selected as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star, a recognition reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in Southern California under the age of 40.
Recently, Travis had the unique opportunity to litigate a medical malpractice wrongful death case alongside his father, Doug Easton. This case involved a doctor who had violated the standard of care while performing a relatively straightforward lung procedure, resulting in the tragic death of the client’s wife and mother. Despite clear negligence, the defendant doctor made no settlement offer before the trial due to a recent defense verdict in another medical malpractice case. Furthermore, the defense attorney representing the doctor in both cases was highly respected and hadn’t lost a case at trial in over a decade. After several days of trial, negotiations finally began, resulting in a confidential settlement that significantly exceeded the plaintiff’s initial pre-trial offer.
Travis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011 from Brigham Young University, majoring in English. He later attended the University of San Diego School of Law, consistently ranked as one of California’s top 10 law schools, where he earned his Juris Doctor and was admitted to the California Bar in 2014. During his time in law school, Travis dedicated himself to courses that would enhance his skills as a personal injury trial attorney. He excelled in courses related to oral advocacy skills, negotiation, and received the CALI award for achieving the top grade in his Advanced Torts course. Despite his demanding schedule, Travis also worked as a Research Assistant for esteemed law school professor Michael Ramsey.
Travis’ passion for representing personal injury clients developed during his years working for Easton & Easton, formerly known as the Law Offices of W. Douglas Easton. He contributed in various capacities, from handling calls to drafting settlement demands and organizing medical records. This firsthand experience showcased how dedicated advocacy and hard work could positively impact the lives of individuals suffering from injuries. Travis’ commitment to seeking justice for seriously injured individuals has earned him recognition from the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys, who have named him one of the “10 Best” Personal Injury Attorneys for California based on client satisfaction over the past several years.
Like his father and brothers, Travis took a two-year break from college to serve as a missionary for his church in Tijuana, Mexico. During his mission, Travis developed a deep appreciation for the Hispanic people and their culture, particularly their cuisine. He continues to prioritize service in various capacities, including volunteering as a basketball coach for youth in his church congregation. Travis is also an Eagle Scout and actively participates in his church’s activities.
