Peter L. Cedeño, Esq., serves as the managing and founding partner of Cedeño Law Group, PLLC, situated in the heart of downtown Manhattan.

Mr. Cedeño’s legal practice is exclusively dedicated to the areas of Divorce, Family Law, and Criminal Defense. His firm provides comprehensive representation in all Family Law matters, encompassing child support, custody, property division, maintenance, and pre/post nuptial agreements. He has a track record of successfully representing a diverse range of New Yorkers facing divorce, from straightforward cases to those involving high-net-worth individuals. With extensive experience in litigation, Mr. Cedeño has handled numerous family law cases in the courtroom.

Having previously served as a Brooklyn District Attorney, Mr. Cedeño possesses a wealth of experience handling criminal cases, including DWI offenses and those related to family law issues, such as violations of protective orders and failure to meet child support obligations.

With nearly 25 years in private practice, Mr. Cedeño has established a well-deserved reputation for his legal acumen, diligent work ethic, and professionalism. He has been invited to speak on family law and divorce topics by various organizations, including the New York State Bar Association.

After completing his education at Fordham Preparatory School, Mr. Cedeño earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Scranton. He subsequently obtained his law degree from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. He has been licensed to practice law in the state of New York since 1994 and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Cedeño gained valuable legal experience as an assistant district attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where he served as a prosecutor. He later transitioned his focus to family law.

Mr. Cedeño actively participates in various legal associations, serving on the executive committee for the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section. He is also a member of the Matrimonial Forensic Interdisciplinary Forum and the Dominican Bar Association, where he held the position of vice president from 2009 to 2010. Additionally, he has served as a former member of the New York City Bar Association Matrimonial Law Committee.
