Andy Siegel is the senior litigating partner and co-founder of Siegel & Coonerty, LLP, a New York City-based law firm specializing in personal injury cases. His legal practice encompasses a broad spectrum of cases involving severe bodily harm, but he holds a special and empathetic dedication to representing survivors of traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Andy acknowledges the inherent difficulty in achieving “fair compensation” for the intangible losses inflicted by brain injuries, even citing an example where a jury awarded a substantial $43 million to one of his TBI clients for their conscious pain and suffering. Nevertheless, he remains committed to his advocacy.

In addition to his legal work, Andy Siegel actively contributes to various organizations related to his causes. He serves on the Board of Directors for both the New York State Trial Lawyer’s Association and the Brain Injury Association of New York State. His numerous successes in the courtroom routinely place his trial outcomes among the “Top 100 Verdicts” reported annually in the state. Furthermore, Andy has consistently earned recognition as a Super Lawyer since 2010.

Beyond his legal career, Andy Siegel is a published author. He has authored The Tug Wyler Mystery Series, a collection of emotionally charged and intellectually stimulating medical-legal thrillers. His debut novel, “Suzy’s Case,” provides a human perspective on a subject he intimately understands from his professional life: the profound impact of TBI on survivors and their families. “Suzy’s Case” garnered attention, including being optioned by CBS Television, recognized as a People.com Best Beach Read, and named a Suspense Magazine Best Book.

Andy also penned “Second Impact – The Ray Ciancaglini Story,” a narrative focused on Ray Ciancaglini, a former professional boxer and champion of concussion awareness. Ray himself suffered a brain injury in the boxing ring, and Andy’s book serves as an educational tool to protect today’s young athletes from the dangers of “playing through” concussions. All proceeds from the book sales are donated to Ray’s non-profit organization, thesecondimpact.com.

Andy Siegel earned his cum laude degree from Tulane University in 1985 and subsequently pursued his Juris Doctor degree at Brooklyn Law School, graduating in 1988. He is admitted to practice law in the New York State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York.
