David E. Robbins, a former special deputy attorney general of New York, currently serves as a partner at Kaufmann Gildin & Robbins LLP, where he specializes in representing clients in Manhattan and New York City, New York. His practice focuses on various aspects of securities and corporate finance law, encompassing securities regulation, securities fraud, insider trading, state and local agency matters, employment contract disputes, mediation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement.
Mr. Robbins embarked on his academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with magna cum laude honors from Syracuse University in 1971. Subsequently, he pursued his legal education at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where he received the Award for Meritorious Service from the Community Legal Services of Philadelphia and obtained a Juris Doctor degree. He is authorized to practice law in New York and is admitted before both the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Notably, Mr. Robbins served as the compliance department director at the American Stock Exchange for a span of five years.
In recognition of his dedication to safeguarding investor rights, Mr. Robbins was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Protection of Investor Rights, known as the Golden Bow Tie Award, by the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association in 2003. He also serves on the board of editors for the Securities Arbitration Commentator and is a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association.
