Carolin Guentert is a Partner at Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, based in the firm’s New York office. Her primary mission is to promote equity within workplaces and educational institutions. Ms. Guentert possesses extensive expertise in representing employees who have encountered workplace discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. She also dedicates herself to supporting survivors of domestic violence and frequently represents students who have experienced sexual harassment, sexual violence, or discrimination in educational settings. Her approach to her work is characterized by empathy and compassion, and she tirelessly fights for the rights of her clients who have suffered violations. Ms. Guentert has a track record of successfully guiding plaintiffs through federal and state litigations, mediations, and confidential pre-suit negotiations. Her legal experience covers a wide range of industries, including legal, educational, financial services, technology, and consumer goods.
Prior to her role at Sanford Heisler Sharp, Ms. Guentert served as a clerk for the Honorable Jack B. Weinstein of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Following her clerkship, she worked as a clinical teaching fellow at Georgetown University Law Center’s Domestic Violence Clinic.
Ms. Guentert holds a law degree from New York University School of Law, an LL.M. with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center, and a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey. She is licensed to practice law in New York and the District of Columbia and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd and 4th Circuits.
