Charles Field is San Diego Managing Partner of Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, LLP, and serves the Co-Chair of the firm's Financial Mismanagement and ERISA Litigation Practice Group.Mr. Field focuses his practice on securities law and commercial and general civil litigation, assisting individuals and businesses in matters involving ERISA claims, employment law issues, FINRA violations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities regulation, investment fraud, broker-dealer disputes and more.Throughout his successful 37-year career, Mr. Field has undertaken numerous ERISA class action cases against various Fortune 500 companies for mismanagement of their employees' 401(k) retirement plans, obtaining multimillion-dollar settlements as a result. He has further established investment company operations across the globe and has represented elderly and high net worth individuals in their claims of financial deception against investment firms, promoters and brokers alike.Having served as the General Counsel of Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management and its successor, from 2002 to 2013, Mr. Field brings a combination of private practice experience and extensive knowledge of laws applicable to investment advisers, broker-dealers and commodity trading advisors.Furthermore, Mr. Field has held industry roles as Chief Compliance Officer, FINRA General Securities Principal, General Options Principal as well as General Municipal Securities Principal. He uses this acquired knowledge to assess any breaches in legal obligation by the seller and assist aggrieved investors to recover damages.After completing his bachelor’s degree at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, Mr. Field received a doctorate in law from the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 1986. He also holds degrees in European legal studies from The University of Edinburgh and The University of Salzburg.
