Christy L. Bertram

Christy L. Bertram is a partner at the civil litigation firm Johnson & Bertram LLP, one of the few female-owned law partnerships in Orange County, California. Ranked among the top attorneys in Southern California by Los Angeles Magazine and Super Lawyers Magazine each year from 2013-2017 and 2020-2022, Ms. Bertram is an astute litigator with experience in a wide variety of complex business and commercial cases in both state and federal courts. She has handled litigation involving trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, breach of contract, fraud, negligence, real estate, construction defect, and business torts.She has successfully settled and litigated numerous cases for her clients, including obtaining a verdict of over $1 million in a trade secrets matter and securing an impressive settlement for a Fortune 100 client in a fraud case. Her clients range from small start-ups to Fortune 100 companies and represent a broad spectrum of industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, engineering, banking and finance, and health care. In addition to being licensed to practice in California, she and her firm actively manage out-of-state litigation for their clients.After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ms. Bertram received her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of San Diego School of Law. Before co-founding her current firm, she was employed at a prominent international law firm, where she gained experience as a trial lawyer handling intellectual property, health care and financial services matters.Ms. Bertram is admitted to practice before the state courts of California and the U.S. District Courts for all districts of California. In addition to her highly successful legal career, Ms. Bertram is a member of the Orange County and Los Angeles County bar associations, and she is actively involved in Human Options, a shelter for battered women and children in Orange County.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Women Business Owners - OC Chapter.
