Dianne M. Fetzer

A sole practitioner based in Sacramento, Dianne M. Fetzer is certified as a specialist in family law by the Board of Legal Specialization of The State Bar of California. Focusing her practice exclusively on those type of matters, she assists clients throughout Sacramento, Napa, Sonoma, Placer and El Dorado counties, and other parts of the state. Admitted to practice before all California state courts, Ms. Fetzer is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States.A significant portion of Ms. Fetzer's practice involves the representation of people whose marriages are coming to an end and who need to resolve issues such as the division of complex community property, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. Other family law matters that she has handled have included paternity establishment and disputes, adoptions, and the obtaining of protective orders for victims of domestic violence, and she has been appointed by family court judges to represent minors who are the subject of child custody disputes. Her successful track record in all of these areas, as well as her high degree of ethics, have earned Ms. Fetzer an "Excellent" peer review rating through Avvo.  In 2022 she was presented with the Hall of Fame Award from the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists. She also received the Best Lawyers recognition.Ms. Fetzer has delivered presentations on family law topics to continuing legal education program attendees, and she has provided input on proposed family law legislation. Her professional affiliations have included the National Association of Counsel for Children and the Family Law Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association. A 1993 recipient of a Bachelor of Arts in English from Sonoma State University, Ms. Fetzer attended the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, and she was awarded her Juris Doctor with distinction in 1997.
