Ellen A. Pansky, Pansky Markle Attorneys at Law, focuses her practice on professional liability and legal ethics. Located in South Pasadena, California, she represents law firms, attorneys and bar applicants throughout California in licensing and regulatory proceedings, in legal malpractice matters, and she advises and consults in law practice risk management and legal ethics compliance. "When The State Bar Calls" is a catch phrase synonymous with Pansky Markle Attorneys at Law.  Ms. Pansky is a certified specialist in legal malpractice law by the Board of Legal Specialization of The State Bar of California, and she is a California State Bar certified MCLE provider. Ms. Pansky is a recognized legal ethics expert, and she frequently testifies as an expert witness in legal malpractice lawsuits.A native of Southern California, Ms. Pansky attended the University of California, Los Angeles as an undergraduate, graduating in 3 years summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1974. She attended Loyola Law School and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1977. Shortly after being admitted to practice, Ms. Pansky joined the Office of Chief Trial Counsel of The State Bar of California, where she spent five years as a prosecutor, litigating before the State Bar Court. She then served as an assistant General Counsel for The State Bar of California, briefing and arguing more than a dozen State Bar cases before the California Supreme Court. She was an associate at a litigation defense firm in Los Angeles from 1985-1989. Together with her late husband, R. Gerald Markle, in 1989, Ms. Pansky formed Pansky Markle, known as "Advisors to the Legal Profession."Ms. Pansky has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. A recipient of The State Bar of California's Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services, Ms. Pansky has been awarded other prestigious honors as well, including a longstanding AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and APRL's 2016 Charles W. Kettlewell Legal Ethics Advisor Award.
