Marlene P. Getchell

Marlene P. Getchell’s legal expertise is in the preparation of estate plans, probate and trust administration, and trust and estate litigation. She has practiced in the field of probate, trust, conservatorships, and estate planning for over 35 years, and has been a certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law for over 20 years. Her experience in litigation includes contested matters pertaining to will and trust contests, substituted judgment actions, fiduciary accountings, and breach of fiduciary duty. She is a Past President of the Marin County Bar Association, a recipient of the Wiley Manual Award for providing pro bono legal services in Marin County, and a certified green business. Marlene is a consulting editor for California Trust Litigation published by Matthew Bender and volunteers in working with the Marin County Superior Court assisting in the settlement of cases before the court. In addition to practicing law full time, Marlene currently serves as Chairman of the Board of California-Nevada Methodist Homes, a nonprofit corporation that operates full service retirement communities in Northern California.
