Born and raised in Sacramento, Mr. Hackard attended California State University, Sacramento, where he majored in political science and history and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1972. He then enrolled at the University of Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 1976. Mr. Hackard has since supplemented his business knowledge by taking executive-level courses at several institutions, including The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.A significant portion of Mr. Hackard’s practice consists of trust and estate litigation. In this regard, he has represented heirs, beneficiaries and fiduciaries in will contests and other challenges to estate plan documents. Many of his clients live outside of California and rely on him to protect their interests under California state law.
