Richard A. Lovich

As a co-managing partner of the Law Offices of Stephenson, Acquisto & Colman, Richard A. Lovich has over four decades of litigation experience and is proud to represent and advise healthcare provider clients throughout the country. He is tasked with managing both prelitigation resolutions and litigation of hospital claims through each step of the process, from settlement negotiations, through trial preparation, to arbitration or trial. A former managing attorney and chief trial lawyer for the staff legal departments of two of the largest insurance companies in the country, he is extremely knowledgeable in both formal and informal case resolution.Mr. Lovich is admitted to practice in the state of California. He is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.After graduating from California State University, Northridge, in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Political Science, Mr. Lovich attended Loyola Law School and graduated with his Juris Doctor in 1983. For his high-ethical standards and long list of successful results, he holds the highest peer rating possible of AV Preeminent* from Martindale-Hubbell.Mr. Lovich is national legal counsel for the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management,(AAHAM), and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys,(CSHA) the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Lovich is certified in the teaching of trial advocacy skills by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), and was selected by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel as one of the  Nation’s Top One Percent of attorneys. Mr. Lovich has testified on behalf of AAHAM before the United States Senate Commerce Committee on the impact on healthcare providers of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and was selected by the Chairman of the FCC to serve on an industry workgroup providing best practices for voice service providers about curbing illegal robocalls to hospitals.
