Rosana Ortega

Fluent in Spanish and Italian as well as in English, Rosana Ortega is the founder of the Ortega Business Law Firm, APC. She is located in San Diego, California, and she furnishes representation to clients throughout the greater metropolitan area. Ms. Ortega has been admitted to practice before all California state courts since 1992, and she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of California.As the name of her firm would suggest, a significant portion of Ms. Ortega’s practice involves a variety of business matters for for profit and nonprofit entities. She has worked on entity formation and counseling, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, licensing transactions, the preparation and the negotiation and review of contracts.  Ms. Ortega also serves as general counsel to several of her clients. Ms. Ortega has represented clients from a wide array of industries and occupations, including franchising, real estate, distribution, manufacturers, health care facilities and practitioners, nonprofit organizations and educational institutions.Ms. Ortega has an active employment law practice as well. In this regard, she provides advice and counsel to companies on a wide array of issues, including hiring and termination policies, the preparation and review of employee manuals and employment agreements, litigation risk avoidance, compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, and the training of supervisory and managerial personnel on discrimination and sexual harassment matters.As an undergraduate, Ms. Ortega majored in English at the University of San Diego and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1985. She then went on to pursue her legal education at the University of San Diego School of Law, and she participated in moot court competitions before graduating with her Juris Doctor in 1990. Ms. Ortega’s professional memberships include the San Diego County Bar Association.
