Adam D. Cole, a partner at Chipman Brown Cicero & Cole, LLP, is based in their New York City offices. His legal practice is primarily centered around complex business litigation and associated matters, representing clients across the United States. Mr. Cole has been granted admission to practice law in all New York state courts since 1991. Additionally, he holds licenses to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

Within his legal career, Mr. Cole has dealt extensively with business bankruptcies and the ensuing litigation. In this capacity, he has offered legal counsel to various parties, including hedge funds, investors, creditors’ committees, debtors in possession, and individuals filing under Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. His expertise also encompasses a broad range of securities litigation, where he has supported broker-dealers and publicly traded companies in various disputes.

Furthermore, Mr. Cole has defended national accounting firms facing allegations of professional malpractice in cases initiated by investors and creditors involving audit-related matters. He possesses significant experience in representing companies involved in post-merger and acquisition disputes, including claims related to accounting, pricing, and breaches of warranties. He has authored numerous articles on subjects relevant to his practice areas, which have been featured in law journals. In addition to his courtroom appearances, he has presented cases before arbitration panels.

Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Cole pursued his undergraduate education at Stony Brook University, a part of the State University of New York system, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. He subsequently attended Albany Law School, where he served as the managing editor of the Albany Law Review, ultimately earning his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1990. Mr. Cole is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and several other professional organizations.
