Harwood has forged a distinguished reputation as a leading figure in the fields of commercial litigation, employment law, securities litigation, and professional liability. His track record includes securing multi-million dollar judgments in trial courts and successfully navigating appeals at both state and federal levels. Mr. Harwood holds licenses to practice law in New York State, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, along with the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Federal Circuit. He has contributed his expertise as a member of the Professional Ethics Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and previously served as the Chair of the Committee on Professional Ethics for the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association. Presently, he occupies a position on the Executive Committee of the State Bar’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section.
He graduated with honors from Fordham University School of Law, where he also held a position on the Fordham Law Review. Following his graduation, Mr. Harwood began his career as a clerk for a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York before transitioning into an associate role at a prominent law firm in New York City in 1988. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
