Charles A. Messina, a native of Western New York, is one of the founding partners at Smith & Messina, LLP. His deep-rooted connection to the region, where he has lived, worked, and studied, positions him as a trusted advocate in family law matters. His expertise encompasses various specific cases, such as father’s rights, same-sex family law, matrimonial divorce, adoption, and military divorce, across a broad geographical scope that includes Buffalo and its neighboring cities.
In 2001, Mr. Messina earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from D’Youville College, followed by an eight-year tenure as a paramedic serving Western New York. His legal journey led him to complete his law degree with honors at SUNY Buffalo Law School in 2004, subsequently gaining admission to the New York State Bar Association and the U.S. District Court Western District of New York. Although he initially delved into criminal law, his passion soon shifted towards family law.
Mr. Messina’s commitment to the legal community extends beyond his professional duties. He actively participates in the Erie County Bar Association and holds roles within the Matrimonial and Family Law Committees. Additionally, he is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section. Outside of his legal pursuits, he relishes spending quality time with family and friends.
