Conal Doyle, a distinguished trial attorney, has gained national acclaim for his impactful courtroom victories that have left a significant mark on society. His exceptional legal career includes arguing before the United States Supreme Court and achieving multiple seven and eight figure jury verdicts, a feat accomplished by only a select few in history.

Notably, his landmark international human rights triumph in Castaneda v. United States acted as a catalyst for reform within the United States immigration healthcare system. His role as the lead trial counsel in the Castaneda case garnered widespread praise from fellow legal professionals, legal publications, and the global media.

His achievements have been recognized through various awards, such as the 2012 California Lawyer of the Year (CLAY) Award in Human Rights and the 2011 Trial Lawyer of the Year Award from the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). He has consistently been featured in prestigious listings like Best Lawyers in America and Superlawyers for the past six years. His courtroom successes have been extensively covered in newspapers worldwide, including a segment on the CBS news magazine “60 Minutes.”

Conal’s reputation as one of America’s most skilled trial lawyers was solidified by his consecutive impressive verdicts in Kern County, a traditionally “conservative” jurisdiction in California.

In December 2013, Conal secured a historic $26.8 million medical malpractice jury verdict in the role of lead trial counsel for McKnight v. Spain. This monumental outcome marked the largest medical malpractice verdict in the history of the county. The verdict was recognized as one of the Top 10 Verdicts in California for 2013 by The Daily Journal and also earned a spot on the National Law Journal’s Top 100 Verdicts list nationally. Conal was acknowledged as a Finalist for the 2014 Consumer Attorney of the Year Award by the Consumer Attorneys Association of California (CAOC). Notably, the highest pre-trial offer by the defense was a mere $300,000.

Continuing his streak, in March 2014, Conal secured a $3.8 million jury verdict in Didone v. Jack In The Box, this time focusing on premises liability. Remarkably, the highest pre-trial offer in this case was $200,000.

The bedrock of Conal’s success is his deep-seated commitment to justice and client advocacy. Born without his right leg, he has overcome significant challenges, lending him a unique perspective into the struggles his clients face. This personal connection enables him to adeptly guide his clients through their own hardships.

Conal is also dedicated to public interest work, serving on the Board of Directors for the Public Justice Foundation, a nonprofit public interest law firm. He frequently contributes pro bono work to this organization and acts as a “lead cooperating counsel.” He is also a Board member of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities (LATLC), which raises funds to support local charitable organizations in Los Angeles.

Notably, Conal is renowned for his advocacy on behalf of amputees in injury and bad faith insurance claims. His influential article, “Glimpsing the Future for an Amputee,” serves as a guiding resource for attorneys nationwide who litigate limb loss cases.
