Darren T. Kaplan, the managing partner at Kaplan Gore LLP, serves clients within the New York City metropolitan area. Mr. Kaplan also dedicates his legal expertise to the advocacy of institutional investors, handling substantial transactional claims through litigation and arbitration. He addresses claims arising from investments in hedge funds and private equity funds. Furthermore, he has a distinguished track record representing investors, borrowers, and depositors in class action lawsuits against financial institutions, arising from instances of unfair or unlawful conduct by management.

Darren Kaplan earned his B.S. in political science and English from Syracuse University in 1988, followed by his legal education at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 1991. He was admitted to practice law in Connecticut in the same year and later gained admission in New York, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Court of International Trade, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 11th, and Federal Circuits, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.

Before establishing Kaplan Gore LLP, Mr. Kaplan held a prominent position as the head of the New York City office at a major plaintiff’s contingency firm in the Midwest. Prior to that, he served as a partner at a renowned law firm, where he represented investors and consumers in class actions. Preceding this, he was a partner at a distinguished New York City law firm, where he skillfully litigated claims related to corporate governance, investor rights, product liability, and consumer protection.

With his extensive experience in class actions and consumer rights, Mr. Kaplan is a highly sought-after figure, receiving recognition from national and international media outlets. His insights and expertise have been featured in various prominent publications, including The National Law Journal, Businessweek, MSNBC, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Acknowledged for his unwavering commitment to ethical and professional standards, Mr. Kaplan has earned the prestigious AV Preeminent* rating through Martindale-Hubbell. He is also proud to have been named among The National Trial Lawyers – Top 100 Trial Lawyers.
