F. Edie Mermelstein is a civil litigator and appellate advocate who holds a distinct focus on matters related to intellectual property, financial elder abuse, trust and estate litigation, as well as women’s concerns. Her legal practice revolves around assisting individuals in maneuvering through legal challenges with a combination of empathy and practicality.

Having been born and raised in Long Beach, California, Ms. Mermelstein possesses strong connections to Southern California. Following her graduation from the Marshall School of Business at U.S.C., she enjoyed a successful career as a financial analyst and tax expert before transitioning into the legal field. Expanding her knowledge, she earned her Juris Doctorate and has been a member of the California State Bar since 2007. A portion of her professional endeavors is dedicated to pro bono work, aimed at extending her advocacy to those underserved. Despite facing challenges, Ms. Mermelstein discovered her true calling and unwavering dedication to the pursuit of justice.

In 2008, Ms. Mermelstein initiated a pro bono legal program to offer support to women engaged in battles against breast cancer, as a gesture of giving back to the community. Her achievements include being a finalist for Consumer Attorney of California’s Street Fighter of the Year in 2014. In October 2015, Ms. Mermelstein’s legal career reached a pinnacle when she represented California Consumers before the United States Supreme Court. Her excellence has been acknowledged by Super Lawyers from 2016 to 2020. During her leisure time, she contributes both financially and through volunteer commitments, providing legal services and participating on various Boards of Directors, including those of the California Women’s Law Center, Breast Cancer Angels, and the Auschwitz Study Foundation. Additionally, she actively advises Southern California’s Council on Aging’s Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST).

As the proprietor and founding attorney of FEM Law Group, Ms. Mermelstein oversees offices in Orange County and Los Angeles County. Her advocacy extends to women, children, artists, and the elderly.
