Hal D. Bartholomew’s legal practice is exclusively focused on family law matters. As a co-founder of Bartholomew & Wasznicky LLP situated in Sacramento, he holds the distinction of being certified as a family law specialist by the Board of Legal Specialization of The State Bar of California since the inception of the program. His clientele is comprised of individuals in the region who are navigating the complexities of divorce, grappling with issues such as intricate property division, divorce-related taxation, prenuptial agreements, child and spousal support.

Central to Mr. Bartholomew’s professional endeavors is the pursuit of resolving disputes amicably. He places a strong emphasis on employing consensual dispute resolution methods, particularly divorce mediation and collaborative divorce, to reach resolutions in legal matters.

A native of California, Mr. Bartholomew pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, where he majored in political science and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968. He subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis, School of Law. Mr. Bartholomew’s legal career includes serving as a partner at a Sacramento-based firm for a significant duration prior to co-founding Bartholomew & Wasznicky LLP in February 1989. His legal practice is sanctioned in California, and he is authorized to practice before the United States Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Regarded with high esteem by his peers in the legal profession, Mr. Bartholomew’s accomplishments on behalf of his clients have earned him an AV Preeminent* peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell, as well as a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating by Avvo. He holds membership in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, where he also served as the Past President of the NorCal chapter.
