Jeffrey B. Bloom, a partner at the Gair, Gair, Conason, Rubinowitz, Bloom, Hershenhorn, Steigman & Mackauf law firm located in the Financial District of New York City, has established himself as a highly skilled litigator during his nearly three and a half decades of legal practice. His client representation extends across the New York metropolitan area and the entire state, with a primary focus on medical malpractice cases, where he has gained significant recognition. In addition to medical malpractice, he also handles various other personal injury matters, including product liability, automobile accidents, and construction accidents, as well as legal malpractice litigation.

Mr. Bloom’s substantial track record as a trial attorney boasts numerous noteworthy verdicts and settlements obtained on behalf of his clients. Some of his most prominent cases include a $9.2 million settlement involving a medical malpractice lawsuit stemming from a delayed diagnosis and treatment of a small bowel obstruction, an $8.85 million settlement for a young girl who suffered preventable blindness, and a $3 million settlement for a child afflicted with Erb’s palsy due to a mishandled delivery. Additionally, he has successfully managed several significant legal malpractice cases.

Having graduated from Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics in 1976 with a B.S. in Economics, Mr. Bloom obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1979 from Hofstra University School of Law, where he earned the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence. He was admitted to practice law in New York in 1980.

Due to his outstanding achievements, Mr. Bloom has received numerous accolades, including his membership in the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers, an exclusive organization limited to just 500 attorneys worldwide. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to advancing his field, serving as the Co-Chair of the Medical Malpractice Committee for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and as a member of the association’s board of directors. Since 2007, he has also held the position of Co-chair and Trustee of the organization’s political action committee, LawPAC NY, and has authored numerous technical papers for legal publications in New York.

Jeff Bloom has been a prominent lecturer for law students and fellow lawyers, sharing his expertise in the preparation and trial of medical malpractice and personal injury lawsuits at institutions such as Hofstra and Fordham Law Schools and in programs sponsored by bar associations. He has also acted as Chairperson and lecturer in New York State Bar Association-sponsored programs focused on “Medical and Legal Issues in Breast Cancer and Gynecological Cancers and Surgery” and “Woman’s Health Issues and Malpractice.” Furthermore, he has provided commentary on Court TV and delivered lectures to fellow lawyers in bar association programs, as well as to physicians in hospital-sponsored programs and rounds.

For several consecutive years, Jeff Bloom has earned recognition in the Best Lawyers in America and New York Magazine’s Best Lawyers in New York, being acknowledged for excellence in four specialties: Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Legal Malpractice, and Professional Malpractice.
