Jeffrey Wicks, the founder of the Wicks Law Firm located in Rochester, New York, dedicates his legal practice to assisting clients in the neighboring counties across a spectrum of legal issues encompassing family law, civil rights, and criminal defense. His expertise extends to handling cases involving drug offenses, DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) charges, federal offenses, and legal matters concerning college students.
Mr. Wicks commenced his academic journey by earning his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego. He continued his pursuit of legal knowledge by successfully attaining his Juris Doctor from the Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington, in 1982. Following his admission to the bar, he secured licenses to practice law in all the state courts of New York and gained admission to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, and even the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Wicks embarked on his legal career at the Monroe County Public Defender’s office, where he dedicated over four years to representing underprivileged individuals in criminal defense cases. This experience further fueled his passion for the law, leading him to join the private practice at Bansbach, Zoghlin, Wicks & Wahl, P.C.
In 2002, Mr. Wicks ventured into solo practice, harnessing his extensive legal acumen to aid clients in a wide array of legal matters, ranging from divorce and advocating for students to vigorously defending against severe felonies like weapons charges and sex crimes. With nearly four decades of experience, he provides his clients with compassionate guidance throughout legal proceedings and tenaciously fights to safeguard their rights.
Acknowledged by his peers for his unwavering commitment to the legal profession and his fervent advocacy, Mr. Wicks has earned a Distinguished* peer-review rating via Martindale-Hubbell.
