Jennifer Duggan is an expert in the field of employment law and litigation. With over 26 years of experience, she has effectively represented employers of all sizes. In 2013, Jennifer established her own firm, with a primary focus on providing proactive legal representation to employers to mitigate the risk of employment-related lawsuits. Her goal is to ensure that her clients are well-prepared to defend themselves in the event of legal claims, positioning them strongly for any challenges that may arise.
Jennifer and her dedicated team have a track record of successfully protecting clients against various legal actions, including wage and hour class action lawsuits, PAGA claims, as well as individual cases involving harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. They handle a wide spectrum of employment litigation, encompassing contract and tort-based cases, as well as disputes related to unfair competition and trade secrets. Additionally, Jennifer collaborates closely with her clients to find resolutions in high-risk employment conflicts and everyday personnel issues, aiming to avoid the necessity of litigation.
Jennifer obtained her B.A. from the University of California at Davis in 1992, followed by her graduation from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1996, where she earned a certificate in business law. During her time at the University of Oregon School of Law, Jennifer held the position of editor-in-chief for the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation. Notably, she was also a recipient of the Oregon State Bar Securities Regulation Scholarship.
Between 2004 and 2013, Jennifer contributed as an adjunct professor at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she instructed students in civil pretrial litigation. In 2015, she pioneered the course “The Business of Lawyering” at UC Davis School of Law. Jennifer has actively engaged in numerous MCLE presentations, serving as both a moderator and panelist, including events such as CEB seminars. Her proficiency extends to the appellate level, having successfully presented arguments before the Third District Court of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit. Furthermore, since 2001, Jennifer has been involved as an arbitrator and private mediator.
Before establishing her firm, Jennifer practiced employment law at a prominent law firm in Sacramento. During this period, she provided legal representation to employers across various industries, drafting essential documents like policies, handbooks, severance agreements, and employment contracts. Her litigation experience spanned state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies. Jennifer also handled diverse litigation cases involving civil rights, governmental tort liability, negligence/personal injury, auto liability, wrongful death, and ADA public accommodation and disability access law, on behalf of both private and public entities.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Jennifer finds joy in spending quality time with her family and passionately supporting Oregon Ducks Football.
