John A. Cirando is widely recognized as one of the foremost appellate attorneys in New York. With a background as a former Chief Assistant District Attorney in Onondaga County and service as an Army captain, Mr. Cirando boasts an extensive record in handling appeals, regularly appearing before both state and federal appellate courts in New York. He holds appointments on significant bodies such as the New York State Law Revision Commission, the Commission on Judicial Nomination, and the New York State Interest on Lawyer Account Fund. Additionally, he has contributed to the Governor’s Judicial Screening Committee. In 2013, Mr. Cirando was honored with the Distinguished Lawyer Award by the Onondaga County Bar Association. He actively participates in various civic and non-profit organizations, either as a board member or in the capacity of general counsel. Furthermore, Mr. Cirando is a respected lecturer on a wide range of subjects and has imparted his expertise in appellate advocacy as an instructor at Syracuse University College of Law.
