Kaitlin D. Foley has dedicated her entire legal career to Colwell Law, based in Albany, New York. Her practice primarily centers on various aspects of family law, offering legal representation to residents in the neighboring counties. Ms. Foley has been authorized to practice law in all New York state courts since January 2017.

Similar to many family law attorneys, Ms. Foley dedicates a significant portion of her time to assisting clients navigating the complexities of divorce. In this capacity, she aids them in addressing issues associated with divorce, such as spousal support, child maintenance, property and debt division, as well as child custody and visitation matters. She employs a range of legal approaches, from facilitating comprehensive settlement agreements and engaging in mediation and collaborative divorce to advocating in court when litigation becomes necessary. Additionally, Ms. Foley represents clients whose marriages have already dissolved, assisting them in seeking court enforcement or modifications of existing parenting and support orders.

Ms. Foley also boasts substantial expertise in non-divorce family law matters. She routinely drafts and reviews prenuptial and post-marital agreements and has been involved in cases related to adoptions, parental abductions, and paternity disputes and establishment.

Ms. Foley’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University at Albany, part of the State University of New York system, which she earned in 2012. Continuing her education in the state capital, she pursued her legal studies at Albany Law School. During her time there, she contributed to the Albany Law Review and served as a teaching assistant for a criminal law professor. She also completed internships with the Office of the New York State Attorney General and a federal magistrate judge.
