Kevin F. Peartree, a Partner, specializes in serving clients across various aspects of the construction industry, contract law, and suretyship. His expertise encompasses construction litigation, advisory services, and contract negotiations for a wide range of professionals, including contractors, design-builders, construction managers, specialty contractors, and surety companies.

Mr. Peartree has demonstrated his active involvement with the Associated General Contractors of America (“AGC”), where he has acted as external legal counsel for the Contract Documents Committee. He played a significant role in crafting the new ConsensusDOCS standard form contract documents, which were jointly published in 2007 by over 20 associations within the construction industry. Notably, he was a principal contributor to ConsensusDOCS 300, the Standard Form of Tri-Party Agreement for Collaborative Project Delivery, designed to foster the integration of efforts and the implementation of lean construction principles among owners, designers, and constructors.

Additionally, Mr. Peartree contributed to the development of the 1999 edition of AGC’s design-build standard form contract documents and was involved in revising and drafting various AGC standard form agreements, including owner-contractor agreements, joint venture agreements, owner’s representative agreements, and administrative forms.

Mr. Peartree’s editorial contributions include the ConsensusDocs Contract Documents Handbook, published in 2012 by Aspen Publishing, with regular updates, and he authored several chapters for this publication. Prior to this, he co-edited the AGC Contract Documents, which were published in 2003 by Aspen Publishing. He has also authored articles and delivered presentations nationwide on a wide range of topics, including risk management, contract documents, ConsensusDOCS, AIA contracts, project delivery systems, design-build, insurance, surety matters, and the New York Lien Law. His speaking engagements have encompassed various industry groups, such as the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry, the International Risk Management Institute, The Associated General Contractors of America, the Design-Build Institute of America, the Construction Super Conference, and the Construction Specifications Institute.
