Mr. Colwell’s educational background includes a Juris Doctor degree obtained in 1997 from the University of Dayton School of Law, following his graduation from The State University of New York. He was admitted to practice by the New York State Bar Association the following year and is also authorized to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.

Early in his legal career, Mr. Colwell gained invaluable trial experience as assistant counsel with the Columbia County Public Defender’s Office.
