Louis G. Adolfsen, one of the founding members of the law firm Melito & Adolfsen P.C., practices law in New York, New York, and extends his legal services to clients not only across the United States but also internationally. His legal expertise encompasses various areas, including insurance coverage, criminal defense, media and advertising, as well as general commercial litigation.
Before embarking on a highly successful legal career, Mr. Adolfsen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Stony Brook University. Subsequently, he pursued his legal education, graduating with Honors and obtaining his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He initiated his legal career by working at a firm primarily focused on tax representation for nonresident individuals and foreign corporations. Notably, this firm served prominent clients such as Black Sabbath and the Rolling Stones, where Mr. Adolfsen played a pivotal role in preparing their U.S. tax returns during his early years.
Mr. Adolfsen founded his present law firm at the onset of the mass tort litigation boom, commencing with the renowned environmental contamination case, Love Canal.
Having earned admission to practice law in both New York and the District of Columbia, Mr. Adolfsen is also authorized to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of New York. Furthermore, he possesses the capability to argue cases and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 2nd, 5th, 11th, and the District of Columbia Circuit.
