Marie boasts over a quarter-century of experience as an attorney, with a diverse background encompassing intricate legal cases spanning employment discrimination, civil rights, mass torts, personal injury, medical malpractice litigation, and pharmaceutical litigation. She holds a J.D. from St. John’s University Law School and an L.L.M. degree from New York University (NYU) School of Law, and is currently pursuing an Environmental Law LLM at Lewis and Clark Law School, expected to graduate in 2023. Her professional journey includes service with the New York Appellate Division, 2nd Department, as well as the role of instructing CLE courses on Tort and Civil Procedure at St. John’s University School of Law.

In her capacity as a founding partner, Marie plays a pivotal role in securing substantial verdicts and settlements for the firm, with notable accomplishments including the $1.3+ billion settlement in the New York Opioid Jury Trial, the successful plaintiff verdict in the Ohio Opioid Trial (the pivotal federal trial against national pharmacy chains), the $640 million agreement related to the Flint Water Crisis, and the $1 billion settlement tied to the World Trade Center litigation. The firm maintains a prominent presence in high-profile legal battles, including antitrust generic drug litigation and Aqueous Film-Forming Foam water contamination cases, where a recent $1.185 billion agreement with Dupont, Chemours, and Corteva was announced, alongside various civil rights cases.

Marie’s exceptional legal contributions have earned her accolades and recognition within the legal community, consistently earning her a place on prestigious lists such as New York Super Lawyers®, Best Attorneys of America, and The National Trial Lawyers for Women’s Rights – Top 10 list, among others.

In addition to her legal pursuits, Marie serves as a Board Member for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and holds the distinction of being a founding Board Member and former President of the Trial Lawyers of Puerto Rico (TLPR), a professional organization uniting top trial lawyers to exchange knowledge, foster partnerships, and contribute positively to the local Puerto Rican community.
