Matthew D. Easton holds the role of Managing Partner at Easton & Easton, LLP, situated in Costa Mesa, California. The establishment was initially established by Doug Easton, Matt’s father, in 1993, following his extensive 20-year tenure representing plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice cases. At present, Matt practices law alongside his father and his two siblings, Brian and Travis. Since becoming part of Easton & Easton, Matt has overseen numerous cases on behalf of deserving plaintiffs, encompassing significant litigation against the State of California, various municipalities, numerous school districts, and numerous corporate entities, among other defendants. His accomplishments include securing a $20,000,000 settlement in 2019 for a client injured on the defendant’s premises, successfully mediating a challenging $3,060,000 settlement in 2016 for a lane-splitting motorcycle accident (equivalent to ten times the medical expenses), and securing $1,875,000 and $1,800,000 respectively in 2017 for pre-litigation auto accident cases involving medical bills of less than $200,000 each.

In 2013, Matt played a pivotal role in negotiating a $2.75 million settlement for the wrongful death of an unmarried 55-year-old man, whose elderly parents were his only surviving heirs. This effort earned him commendation from the City of Lancaster. In another case, he represented a breast cancer survivor whose post-reconstruction injury following a T-bone collision resulted in a remarkable $1,240,000 settlement, achieved one month prior to trial after over a year of litigation.

Serving as Managing Partner since 2019, Matt heads a seasoned litigation team at Easton & Easton, dedicated to fighting for the rights and full compensation of injury victims across a spectrum of personal injury cases. The firm’s consistent track record of success has led to recognition by U.S. News & World Report, which has named it one of Southern California’s Best Law Firms since 2014. Rooted in his commitment to serving others, Matt spent two years in Mexico City as part of a church mission, becoming fluent in Spanish and developing a deep appreciation for the Hispanic community’s people and culture. Beyond his legal pursuits, he is an enthusiastic outdoor adventurer, engaging in activities such as camping, rock climbing, skiing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, mountain biking, dirt biking, e-foiling, golf, crossfit, volleyball, basketball, and tennis.

Matt’s personal life is enriched by his marriage to Rachel Easton, a skilled author, and their three sons – Ronan, Liam, and Finian.
