He is licensed to practice law in Connecticut (1992) and New York (2001), with admissions to the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Dedicated to his community, Mr. Fitzgerald is a member of the board of directors at Stride, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering adaptive sports and recreation programs for children and individuals with disabilities. Additionally, he has contributed to legal education as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law.
