Patrick J. Fitzgerald serves as the managing partner at the Albany, New York-based law firm, Girvin & Ferlazzo, PC. Mr. Fitzgerald earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1992, following his magna cum laude graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Fairfield University in 1987, where he was a recipient of the presidential scholarship. He is licensed to practice law in Connecticut (1992) and New York (2001), with admissions to the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Mr. Fitzgerald is known for his steadfast and litigation-ready approach, frequently taking public and private sector employment law and labor cases to trial. His expertise spans a wide spectrum of employment law matters, including those pertaining to the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and other relevant employment statutes. He also assists employers in establishing a positive work environment through the development of HR policies, employee handbooks, contracts, and related legal documents.

Dedicated to his community, Mr. Fitzgerald is a member of the board of directors at Stride, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering adaptive sports and recreation programs for children and individuals with disabilities. Additionally, he has contributed to legal education as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law.
