Colin Campbell is a highly experienced trial attorney, boasting over three decades of legal expertise, and a remarkable track record of courtroom success. His achievements in personal injury law, encompassing areas such as motor vehicle and motorcycle cases, construction accidents, and medical malpractice, are marked by multiple seven-figure jury verdicts—rare accomplishments few lawyers in the United States can claim. Notably, Mr. Campbell is frequently sought after by fellow attorneys and law firms to provide consultation and assistance in their personal injury trials.

Mr. Campbell commenced his legal career representing insurance companies but eventually transitioned to the plaintiff’s side of the courtroom, where he could advocate for ordinary individuals rather than pursuing cost savings for insurance firms. Leveraging the knowledge and experience he acquired during his defense work, he has since been instrumental in helping his clients achieve justice.

Throughout his career, Campbell has litigated numerous personal injury cases across various counties in Western and Central New York, establishing a strong reputation as an effective and successful trial lawyer. His legal prowess has earned him consistent recognition from esteemed national organizations like Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Avvo, and locally, he has been honored as a “Best Lawyer” by Buffalo Business First.

Martindale-Hubbell has bestowed upon Campbell the highest rating for both legal ability and ethics, denoted as the “AV” or “Preeminent” rating. This recognition is based on assessments from judges and fellow attorneys, signifying his standing at the pinnacle of professional excellence.

Over the past three decades, Campbell has secured substantial financial recoveries for hundreds of clients spanning nine different counties in New York. Many of these cases were referred to him by peers and former clients. In a recent notable achievement in February 2022, he served as co-counsel in a three-week trial, resulting in a nearly $10,000,000 jury award to an injured motorcycle operator, which is believed to be the highest verdict in a motorcycle/motor vehicle case in the state for that year.

In 2021, Campbell secured a $1.4 million verdict for a Buffalo woman who suffered injuries during a hysterectomy performed by a physician, ranking among the top 20 verdicts in New York for that year.

In 2019, he achieved two jury verdicts recognized as some of the highest in the state for their respective categories—one involving a car crash trial in Chautauqua County concerning a Fredonia man and the other concerning a Tonawanda woman injured on a public bus.

In 2017, Campbell obtained over $5,000,000 in compensation for the family of a seaman who tragically lost his life while working on a Great Lakes freighter.

In 2016, as trial co-counsel for a Silver Creek welder who sustained back and neck injuries at a construction site, Campbell secured a jury award exceeding $6,000,000 in Buffalo.

In 2014, he obtained a $1.25 million verdict for a Dunkirk woman injured during her transfer from home to an ambulance, following improper procedures by a private ambulance service. This verdict, delivered after a two-week trial in Mayville, marked the highest in a personal injury case in Chautauqua County that year.

Campbell also played a pivotal role in obtaining $1.9 million for a Rochester widow and her daughters after the loss of their husband and father in a one-car accident. Initially, the responsible insurance carrier claimed only $100,000 in coverage, but Campbell’s efforts revealed evidence of the defendant driver’s business engagement at the time of the accident, unlocking over a million dollars in additional coverage for the family.

In another instance, Mr. Campbell secured a $2,000,000 settlement for a 52-year-old Springville millwright who suffered back injuries from fallen scaffolding.

In 2010, he achieved a $4.1 million verdict from a Buffalo jury for a 49-year-old man who sustained neck and back injuries during kidney donation surgery for his mother. This stands as one of the five highest medical malpractice verdicts ever recorded in Western New York.

Beyond his legal career, Campbell actively engages in community activities. He has coached youth soccer and basketball, served as President and a founding board member of the local Boys and Girls Club, and contributed his expertise to the local school board. Furthermore, he served as a Town Justice for eight years.

Married with three children, Campbell is an avid runner with eleven marathons and over fifty half marathons under his belt. He also enjoys outdoor pursuits like hiking, biking, and camping.
