Sarah Van Voorhis, a founding partner at Van Voorhis & Sosna LLP in San Francisco, leads a law firm exclusively dedicated to resolving family law cases for clients across the Bay Area. In 2014, Sarah Van Voorhis was appointed as a Commissioner by the State Bar of California for the Family Law Advisory Commission. The commission, comprising only eight Certified Family Law Specialists in California, offered counsel to the California Board of Legal Specialization during the certification evaluation process. Serving as the Commission’s Chair in 2018, Ms. Van Voorhis played a prominent role.

Educated at Stanford Law School (J.D.) and the University of Utah (B.A.), where she graduated with honors in Phi Beta Kappa, Ms. Van Voorhis garnered internship experience with the U.S. Attorney and the San Jose District Attorney while in law school. Distinguishing herself, she is among the select group of California attorneys certified as family law specialists by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She maintains active engagement in numerous professional and bar associations, concurrently acting as a settlement officer (settlement judge) at the San Francisco County Family Law Superior Court and offering her services as a volunteer attorney.
