She aids her clients in navigating the legal intricacies inherent to the various stages of film production and television development. In her work with production companies and film clients, Shaliz offers consistent counsel on crucial matters such as the establishment and structuring of single-purpose entities, securing proper chain of title, negotiating option agreements, handling investor documents and financing, overseeing production agreements, licenses, and releases, as well as assisting with clearance and distribution concerns. She is also well-versed in contract negotiations for members and signatories of esteemed organizations like WGA, DGA, and SAG-AFTRA.
Shaliz frequently shares her expertise by speaking at various events and institutions on legal topics. She has delivered lectures on Entertainment Law at esteemed venues such as the New York City Bar, Writers Guild of America, Producers Guild of America, Columbia University M.F.A. Program, New York Law School, and Brooklyn Law School. Additionally, she has taken the lead in conducting Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses on Entertainment Law for fellow attorneys. As a dedicated member of the New York State Bar Association, she actively participates in the Business Law and Entertainment, Sports & Art Law Sections.
