Steve Coopersmith serves as the originator and Managing Partner at The Coopersmith Law Firm, LLP situated in San Diego, California. The firm specializes in representing clients across Southern California in various legal disputes related to business and corporate matters. Mr. Coopersmith’s academic journey led him to achieve a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Throughout his law school tenure, he actively participated as a note editor for the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly and gained experience as a judicial extern for the presiding justice of the 1st District Court of Appeal. After completing his law studies, Mr. Coopersmith served as a U.S. Army JAG Officer, offering legal counsel to officers and handling felony criminal cases within courts-martial. Before establishing his private practice nearly 15 years ago, he honed his skills in business litigation through associations with prominent law firms in San Diego.

Mr. Coopersmith holds licenses to practice law within California and in the U.S. District Courts for various districts in the state. Furthermore, he possesses licenses to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and the Supreme Court of the United States.

During his leisure time, Mr. Coopersmith derives joy from playing jazz and blues piano, and he is an enthusiastic year-round ocean swimmer covering long distances. He actively engages with the San Diego community, having contributed as a trustee on the Board of Trustees of the San Diego Museum of Art and maintaining membership in the esteemed San Diego Rotary, Club 33.
