T. Edward (Eddie) Williams, originally from Liberia in West Africa, established the law firm of Williams LLP in New York. Over the last ten years, Mr. Williams has served as legal counsel for numerous major U.S. corporations and international companies with U.S. subsidiaries. His representation includes handling disputes related to shareholder conflicts, breach of contract, and disagreements subject to international arbitration rules governed by organizations such as the International Chamber of Commerce, the London Court of International Arbitration, and the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
In addition to advising insurers and reinsurers with interests spanning Africa, Mr. Williams also aids with matters such as import-export operations, the establishment of nonprofit organizations, and the formation of entities. Mr. Williams possesses extensive experience in litigating and resolving disputes stemming from failed business transactions involving individuals, businesses, and governments. With the capability to practice law in New York and Colorado, Mr. Williams appears before various courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd and 10th Circuits, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
Mr. Williams graduated with a B.A. from Mercer University in 2006, where he was a participant in the Great Books Program and received the Thomas Jefferson Scholarship. Subsequently, he pursued his Juris Doctor in business litigation from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2009, achieving a ranking in the top 14% of his class. During his time in law school, he held the position of senior editor for the Denver Journal of International Law & Policy. Before establishing his own practice, Mr. Williams gained experience at another prominent law firm based in Denver.
It’s noteworthy that Mr. Williams also serves as a debt relief agent, assisting individuals in filing for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
