Having obtained certification as a specialist in admiralty and maritime law from The State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Banning has diligently served clients not only in San Diego, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and throughout California but also across diverse locations such as Texas, Florida, the U.S. East Coast, American Samoa, Hawaii, Washington, and Alaska. His legal prowess extends to a wide array of cases including:

  • Accidents involving cars, trucks, and motorcycles
  • Global catastrophic injury accidents
  • Incidents within the Colorado River Basin
  • International accidents involving U.S. and foreign fishermen
  • Harbor and boating mishaps
  • Onshore and offshore gas and oil rig accidents
  • Cruise ship and harbor excursion incidents
  • Injuries to ocean-going seamen and passengers
  • Claims pertaining to products liability arising from propeller strikes

Prior to establishing his own legal firm, Mr. Banning gained invaluable experience working with a distinguished maritime insurance defense law firm in California. This background equips him with a deep understanding of the intricacies of the field. He empathetically recognizes that the aftermath of severe personal injuries is a time of immense stress and fear for victims and their families. Thus, he is resolute in his dedication to ensuring they receive unwavering legal representation. His efforts have resulted in securing substantial compensation, totaling millions of dollars, on their behalf.

In 1973, Mr. Banning achieved his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by the attainment of his Juris Doctor from the USC Gould School of Law in 1977. He holds licenses to practice law in the state of California since 1977, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern, and Central Districts of California, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
